Nuocheng Safety always pays attention to current affairs, politics, policies, and regulations. Regarding the issue of nuclear contaminated wastewater discharge from the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, we have made a brief summary.
At 1pm local time on the 24th (12pm Beijing time), Tokyo Electric Power Company operators remotely started the water pump in the monitoring room of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant and began discharging nuclear contaminated water.
According to TEPCO's ocean discharge plan, for the next 17 days, TEPCO will discharge approximately 460 tons of nuclear contaminated water per day, gradually increasing the discharge amount thereafter. TEPCO plans to discharge over 30000 tons of nuclear contaminated water in 2023, equivalent to emptying 30 water storage tanks. The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant currently stores approximately 1.34 million tons of contaminated water, and new contaminated water is being produced every day.
We are just summarizing here and will not discuss the impact of Japan's nuclear wastewater discharge. Our chemical production process also generates corresponding waste emissions. China attaches increasing importance to environmental protection and has a series of national standards and regulations for industrial hazardous waste in order to create a green and low-carbon living environment. Here is a simple list:
National Hazardous Waste List 2021 Edition
GB 34330-2017 "General Rules for Identification of Solid Waste"
GB 5085.7-2019 General Principles for Identification Standards of Hazardous Waste
GB 5085.1-2007 "Identification Standards for Hazardous Waste - Corrosivity Identification"
GB 5085.2-2007 "Identification Standards for Hazardous Waste - Initial Screening for Acute Toxicity"
GB 5085.3-2007 "Identification Standards for Hazardous Waste - Identification of Leaching Toxicity"
GB 5085.4-2007 "Identification Standards for Hazardous Waste - Flammability Identification"
GB 5085.5-2007 "Identification Standards for Hazardous Waste - Reactive Identification"
GB 5085.6-2007 "Identification Standards for Hazardous Waste - Identification of Toxic Substance Content"
If you need the corresponding standard files, you can obtain them by private message or phone message. The importance and supervision of environmental protection in China are gradually increasing, and the supervision of chemical enterprises involved in the discharge of hazardous waste is becoming increasingly strict. If they violate regulations, they will face risks such as suspension of business and rectification. Nuocheng Safety provides free compliance consulting services and testing and inspection services for chemical enterprises. Please feel free to leave a message for consultation.
