Training content: Relevant standards for transportation and identification of lithium batteries (sea, air, land, and railway transportation)
Training time: 3pm on July 7th, 2023
Training location: TPLINK headquarters conference room
Participants: Internal responsible persons of TPLINK
Speaker: Nuocheng Safety Tang Zilong
At the invitation of our partner TPLINK, Tang Zilong, a senior engineer at Nuocheng Safety, will be the internal responsible person of TPLINK to explain and train on the relevant standards for transportation and identification of lithium batteries. The speaker Tang Zilong is a senior lithium battery testing and certification engineer at Nuocheng Safety, with 12 years of experience in the lithium battery testing and certification industry.
The training content is mainly divided into four parts: sea transportation, air transportation, land transportation, and railway transportation. It explains the relevant regulations, packaging requirements, and materials required for applying for transportation appraisal of lithium batteries in each of the four transportation modes.
The following is a brief summary of one of the requirements for applying for sea, air, land, and railway transportation certification in this training.
1、 Information is required for applying for maritime appraisal
1. Apply for a power of attorney, print and stamp it after review;
2. UN38.3 test report (stamped with CNAS seal) and UN38.3 test summary;
3. Please provide packaging information (gross weight of packaging, net weight of battery, equipment name, equipment model, quantity, outer box size, equipment picture, outer box picture);
4.1.2-meter drop report (if applicable);
5. Provide 1-2 samples.
2、 Applying for air freight appraisal requires providing documents
1. Apply for a power of attorney, print and stamp it after review;
2. UN38.3 test report (stamped with CNAS seal) and UN38.3 test summary;
3. Please provide packaging information (gross weight of packaging, net weight of battery, equipment name, equipment model, quantity, outer box size, equipment picture, outer box picture);
4.1.2-meter drop report (if applicable);
5. Provide 1-2 samples.
6. The battery or cell must be manufactured under the quality system specified in DGR3.9.2.6 (e);
7. The battery does not belong to recalled batteries, recycled batteries, discarded batteries, or batteries with design defects;
8. Single batteries must be equipped with anti short circuit measures; Devices with batteries must be equipped with measures to prevent accidental start-up, unless the device must be started during transportation and the heat generated will not cause dangerous accidents.
3、 Application for road transportation appraisal requires the provision of materials
1. Lithium batteries must pass the UN38.3 test and the 1.2-meter drop test on the packaging (if required).
2. Lead acid batteries must pass vibration, pressure difference, and high temperature leakage tests.
3. Take measures to prevent short circuits in the battery.
4. The outer packaging box should be properly labeled (with labels for lithium batteries, 9A hazardous materials, etc.).
4、 Information is required to apply for railway transportation appraisal
1. Apply for a power of attorney, print and stamp it after review;
2. UN38.3 test report (stamped with CNAS seal) and UN38.3 test summary;
3. Please provide packaging information (gross weight of packaging, net weight of battery, equipment name, equipment model, quantity, outer box size, equipment picture, outer box picture);
