Fire hazard classification

Based on the fire hazard characteristics of substances, the fire hazard classification principles for production and storage buildings are qualitatively or quantitatively defined, and related industries such as petrochemicals, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals can further refine them according to actual situations.

 

1、 Classification of fire hazards in production:

The classification of fire hazards in production generally requires an analysis of whether each link in the entire production process has the potential to cause a fire. The classification of fire hazards in production generally depends on the most dangerous substances, which can be determined by analyzing factors such as the properties of all raw materials used in production, whether changes in operating conditions during production will change the properties of the substances, the properties of all intermediate products produced during production, the properties of the final products and their by-products, and environmental conditions such as natural ventilation, temperature, and humidity during the production process. Of course, it is necessary to simultaneously consider the actual usage or output of production.

The fire hazard of production should be classified according to the properties and quantities of substances used or generated in production, and can be divided into categories A, B, C, D, and E, and should comply with the provisions of Table 3.1.1.

5. Strong oxidants that can easily cause combustion or explosion when exposed to acid, heat, impact, friction, catalysis, or flammable inorganic substances such as organic matter or sulfur

6. Substances that can cause combustion or explosion when impacted, rubbed, or in contact with oxidants or organic matter

7. Production where the operating temperature is not less than the self ignition point of the substance itself in a sealed equipment

1. Liquids with a flash point of not less than 28 ℃ but less than 60 ℃

2. Gas with a lower explosive limit of not less than 10%

3. Oxidants that do not belong to Class A

4. Flammable solids that do not belong to Class A

5. Combustion supporting gas

6. Floating dust, fibers, and liquid droplets with a flash point of not less than 60 ℃ that can form explosive mixtures with air

C

1. Liquids with a flash point of not less than 60 ℃

2. Combustible solids

2、 Classification of fire hazards for stored items:

The fire hazard of stored items should be classified according to factors such as the nature of the stored items and the quantity of combustibles in the stored items. It can be divided into categories A, B, C, D, and E, and should comply with the provisions of Table 3.1.3.
