1、 What is METI?
METI stands for Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan.
2、 What is PSE certification?
PSE certification is a mandatory safety certification in Japan, used to prove that electronic and electrical products have passed the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act. According to Japan's Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act, 457 products entering the Japanese market must pass PSE safety certification. Among them, 116 Class A (Specified Electrical Appliances and Materials) products should obtain the diamond shaped PSE mark, and 341 Class B (Non Specialized Electrical Appliances and Materials) products should obtain the circular PSE mark.

3、 Lithium ion battery PSE certification：
On February 1, 2018, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry decided to amend the Electricity Safety Law to include portable lithium ion storage batteries (MobileBatteries) in the mandatory PSE certification category, with a transition period of one year, starting from February 1, 2019.

4、 What is METI Notification of Business Commentary?
METI filing refers to Japanese importers reporting relevant information about imported products to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, in order for METI to better understand the sources and quality control of imported products circulating in Japan. Notify Supplier, which made the notification of business commerce.
5、 METI filing process and cycle in Japan：
(1) The product needs to pass PSE certification;
(2) The importer needs to file a PSE certificate with METI, and then the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will issue an approval certificate;
(3) Japanese importers must register and declare with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) within one month after importing goods. They must have a Japanese trading company registered with the Japanese government in order to apply for registration with METI;
(4) There are two types of METI registration in Japan: those with importer qualifications; Without importer qualifications (Zhuoling certification provides rental of Japanese importer qualifications);
(5) After completing PSE certification, METI filing takes 1 to 2 weeks to complete.
